Failed to Reset Steam Account Linking Error Fix
Run Steam With Administrator Rights

Close Steam fully, including the icon in the system tray.

Right-click the Steam shortcut and choose Run as administrator.

Make sure Steam is online and signed in to the account you play on.

Launch AION 2 from your Steam library again.

The pop-up also asks you to check Steam's status, so make sure Steam itself is not down.
Character Missing After Changing Steam Links
Tied to one NC account
Your characters live on the NC account you used when you made them.
Relinking does not move them
Linking Steam to another NC account leaves your characters behind.

Sign in on the NC website with Steam as the login method.

On the Manage Login page, add a second login method, such as a Google account.

Sign out, then sign back in with that new login method.

On Manage Login, disconnect Steam.

Link the Steam account you play on, then start AION 2.
Do not relink accounts on the NC website to chase Twitch Drops. NC warns it can cut you off from your character.

What is AION 2 error 1138:100134?
It is the code on the pop-up that says the Steam account link could not be reset. NC says many things can cause it, and running Steam as an administrator is the first fix to try.
Do I need to link Steam and PURPLE to play?
No. You only link them if you want the same characters on both launchers.
