Yes. Steam and PURPLE players share the same servers, so you can play together no matter which launcher you use.

How to Play With Friends on Another Launcher

    Pick the same region as your friends.

    Pick the same faction, since every server holds only one faction.

    Make your character on the same server, then party up like normal.

  4. 4

    If you switch launchers later, link your Steam and PURPLE accounts first so your characters come with you.

Do I need to link Steam and PURPLE to play together?

No. You only need to link them if you want to use the same characters on both launchers.

Can I play with Korean or Taiwanese players?

No. The Korean and Taiwanese versions are separate services, so Global players cannot join them.
