What to Do With Old Gear?

Extract Gear for Skins and Enhance Stones
Enhance Stones back
Extraction refunds the stones you put into the piece.
Keep the look
The item's appearance goes to your Closet as a skin.
Skins add stats
Your skin collection gives stats as it grows.

The extraction window lists what you get before you confirm.
Transfer Enhanced and Soul Bound Gear
What moves over
Enhancement level and Soul Binding go to the new item. The old one is used up.
Costs extra materials
Transfer needs its own materials, so save it for heavily enhanced pieces.
Check the count
Guides disagree on how many times one item can be transferred. The Transfer tab shows yours.
Keep Unique Gear as Sync Material
Reroll a stat
Sync uses a spare Unique piece to replace one bound stat on your gear.

What to Do With Old Gear FAQ
Can you sell old gear to NPCs in AION 2?
No. Vendors do not take equipment. Extract it, use it for Transfer or Sync, or sell tradable pieces on the Market.
Do I lose the look when I extract an item?
No. Its appearance is saved as a skin in your Closet, and the skin collection adds stats.
Should I extract Unique gear?
Only once you are sure you will not need it. Spare Unique pieces are the material for Sync, and endgame Sync needs plenty.
