How to Increase Gear Score
Daevanion Board Points From Regional Quests
Crystals from quests
Regional Quests and Sealed Dungeons hand out Daevanion Crystals.
Spend them
Crystals only count once you put the points into the board.
Shops sell more
The Shugo Festival and Nightmare shops stock extra crystals.
Belt Upgrades From Strongholds

Clear Strongholds for Belt Enhance Scrolls.

Enhance the belt to +10.
- 3
Raise its rarity with Substance Morph for a big jump.
- 4
Repeat at the new rarity.
Upgrade Your Amulet at the Monolith
- 1
Collect Empyrean Traces in the open world and the Abyss.
- 2
Turn them in at the Monolith for amulet scrolls.
- 3
Enhance the amulet to +10, then Substance Morph it up a rarity.
Upgrade Weapons and Bracelets
- Story weapon and guardTake the Unique pair to +10

Each enhance level up to +10 always succeeds, so these are safe points.
Use Manastones and Soulstones
Fill open sockets
Engraving a stone adds stats and a bit of Item Level.
Random rolls
Use cheap Lesser stones on gear you will replace.
Save the good ones
Put better stones only on pieces you plan to keep.
Use Clash Runes
Two rune slots
Fill both as soon as you can. Runes count toward Item Level right away.
Where to get them
Regional Quest rune chests first, then the Nightmare shop.
Careful past +1
Rune upgrades past +1 can fail and break the rune, so keep a spare.
Conquest Gear and Pity Picks
Unique gear
Conquest is the harder Expedition mode with the best regular drops.
Pity pick
After enough reward claims you get to choose a guaranteed piece.
Costs Odyle Energy
Each reward Cube eats Odyle Energy, so spend it on your best tier.
Get Arcana Sets
Five slots
Every Arcana you equip adds Item Level, and better rarity adds more.
Transcendence only
Cards drop in Transcendence, which opens at about 1,600 Item Level.
Look past the number
Arcana can roll skill levels and set bonuses that matter more than score.

Yes. Gear Score and Gear Power are player names for it. In game it is called Item Level.
What Item Level do I need for the Abyss?
About 1,000. You need the same mark to finish the last story quests.
Why did my Item Level not go up after getting Daevanion Crystals?
Crystals only count once you spend the points on the Daevanion Board.
