How to Get Started in AION 2
Pick a region
There are 5 regions: NA East, NA West, Europe, South America, Asia. Asia servers are in Japan. Pick the one close to you and your friends. See all regions
Pick a faction
Elyos start in Verteron, Asmodians in Altgard. Each server holds only one faction.
Pick a server
Go where your friends are. Membership is bought per server, and transfers only move you inside the same faction and region.
Pick a class
8 classes: tank, healer, support and five damage dealers. Compare the classes
Steam or PURPLE
Both use the same servers. Link your Steam and PURPLE accounts if you want the same characters on both.
Change the language
8 text languages, voice in English, Japanese and Korean. Click the gear icon at the top right, open Settings, then the Language tab.
AION 2 Tips and Tricks
Claim your launch rewards
Log in before the December 1 maintenance. The pre-registration and Steam wishlist rewards come by mail, and that mail expires on December 8.
Check for codes
NC has posted one Global code so far, and it already expired. See the codes page
Membership is optional
You mainly need it for the Market, the Exchange and trading. What it costs
Plan around maintenance
Servers usually go down every Tuesday at 11:30 PM PT for 3.5 to 4 hours. Countdown in your time
Free server transfer
Early Access servers can move until the October 20 maintenance, Launch servers from then until the October 27 maintenance (PT). One free transfer per account.
Playing from Southeast Asia
On PURPLE, players in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand need to set the launcher region to Global to see AION 2.
Level the free Daeva Pass
Every character has the free Basic track of the Daeva Pass, so its rewards come in as you play.
Never buy gold
On October 15 NC restricted 7,933 accounts for bots, gold farming and real money trading. Stay away from gold sellers.

Choose the Same Faction as Your Friends
One faction per server
Pick a region, then a faction, then a server of that faction. Your friends have to make the same picks to play with you.
You can't change factions
A server transfer never moves you to the other side, so think about this one before you level up.

What is the best faction to join, Elyos or Asmodians?
Neither is a wrong pick. Go with your friends, since every server holds only one faction and you meet the other side in the Abyss.
Can you change factions in AION 2?
Not with a server transfer, because transfers only move you within the same faction and region. To play the other side you make a new character on a server of that faction.
Do I need a subscription to play AION 2?
No. The game is free. Membership ($14.99 for 30 days) mainly opens the Market, the Exchange and player trading, and it only covers the server you bought it on.
How do I redeem codes in AION 2?
In game, open Settings, then Miscellaneous, then Account, and pick Enter Coupon. There is also an Enter Coupon page on the official website.
