AION 2 Leveling and Progression Guide

    Play the main story all the way to level 45.

  2. 2

    Grab Empyrean Traces you pass and hand them in at the Monolith.

  3. 3

    Take your belt and amulet to +10, then raise their rarity with Substance Morph.

  4. 4

    Enhance your weapon, guard and bracelets to +10.

  5. 5

    Finish every Regional Quest you picked up.

  6. 6

    Clear every Stronghold and Sealed Dungeon on your maps.

  7. 7

    Reach about 1,000 Item Level so you can enter the Abyss and finish the story.

  8. 8

    Grow your Genus Insight with pets and Soul Crystals.

  9. 9

    Level gathering and crafting on the side.

Episode quests carry you to 45 faster than anything else.

Most mechanics show up for the first time inside the story.

Now and then the story wants a higher level. Fill the bar with Sealed Dungeons.

Gather Empyrean Traces Along the Way

Pick up what you pass

Traces are collectibles spread across your faction's zones.

Turn them in

The Monolith gives permanent stats and amulet scrolls for them.

Full sweep later

Grab the easy ones now and hunt the rest after the story.

Reach Level 45

Duty opens at 45NC ties the Duty tab in your Journal to level 45.
Level 45 eventsSeveral shop and event items need level 45, like the Abyss Rift Stone offer.
Not the end of the storyThe last chapters also need about 1,000 Item Level and a trip to the Abyss.

Belt

Strongholds give Belt Enhance Scrolls. Go to +10, then Substance Morph it up a rarity.

Amulet

Empyrean Traces at the Monolith give amulet scrolls. Same path: +10, then Morph.

Bracelets next

The Ascension Bracelet and your second bracelet are the next big jump.

Never replaced

Belt and amulet have their own upgrade track, so every scroll stays with you.

Duty Missions are the steady source once you hit 45.

What should I upgrade first in AION 2?

Your belt and amulet. They are never replaced, so every scroll you put in stays with you. Weapon, guard and bracelets come next.

Do I need to finish every Regional Quest?

Before the endgame, yes. They hand out accessories, Clash Runes and Daevanion Crystals, and all of that feeds your Item Level.

When should I start crafting?

Gather along your quest routes from early on. Crafting pays off later, since crafted items can go into Supply Requests for Abyss Points.
