How to Stagger, Block and Parry

Hit an enemy until its stagger gauge breaks, then use your class's stagger skill in the short window. Block and Parry have no button: they come from your Block stat and a few Stigma skills.

How to Stagger

Attack Until the Stagger Gauge Breaks

  1. 1

    Hit the enemy and keep an eye on its stagger gauge.

  2. 2

    Use skills with a high stagger value to break the gauge faster.

  3. 3

    When it breaks, the enemy is staggered for a few seconds.

  4. 4

    Fire your stagger skill right away, since it only works in that window.

A staggered enemy drops what it was doing, which can cancel a boss skill.

Short window

It lasts only a few seconds, so line up your burst.

Stagger value

Every skill tooltip shows how much it hits the gauge.

How to Block and Parry

Increase the Block Stat

Automatic check

There is no block key. The game rolls Block on hits you take.

Raise Block

More Block means more blocks. Dexterity adds to it. More

What beats it

Enemy Accuracy and Block Penetration lower your odds.

Watch your back

Hits from behind ignore Block, so face the enemy. More

Use a Block Skill

    Reach level 22 to slot Stigma skills.

  2. 2

    Take your class's block Stigma if it has one.

  3. 3

    Press it just before a big hit, not at the start of the fight.

  4. 4

    Wait out the cooldown of about 20 seconds before the next one.

How do you stagger a boss in AION 2?

Keep hitting it until its stagger gauge breaks, then use your class's stagger skill during the short window.

What level do you get your stagger skill?

Level 5. Every class has one, like Flash Rampage for Templar and Flame Scattershot for Sorcerer.

Is there a block button in AION 2?

No. Block is an automatic roll from your Block stat. Templar, Gladiator and Chanter also get Stigma skills that make a block or parry sure for a few seconds.

Do back attacks ignore Block?

Yes, hits from behind skip Block, so keep the enemy in front of you.
