Rain is S because Multi-Cover, counters and Protectga keep the whole party alive. He can also switch Visions to add stagger when a fight needs it.

Nichol is S because Mirroring Prism doubles the whole party's actions and his Formations raise both offense and defense. Few picks change a boss fight as much.

Lid is A because Mechabo gives her strong stagger and Mechamog Scan sets up weaknesses for everyone. She shines most next to Rain and Nichol.

Sakura is A because few characters match her spell damage, but she needs Rain and Nichol around her to shine. Low physical defense is her main weak point.

She is A because her debuffs and magic damage are excellent, though Witching Hour's healing block takes planning. She pairs well with Sakura as a second caster.

Lasswell is B because the S and A picks add more to a party later on. He is still a solid physical attacker and breaker, and a good swap when a boss is weak to his elements.

Fina is B because she works best as a flexible swap rather than a core pick. Her mass revive Limit Burst, Esper summons and late Magic Barrage still earn her a slot in the right fight.

Jake is B because his luck-based damage swings more than the top picks. He still hits very hard on crits and is a good swap against Wind-weak bosses.
