How to Beat Mindflayer
Before the Fight
- Buy Jeweled Rings in the Town of Amore and equip one on every member.
- Bring Earth for the boss and Fire for its elementals.
- Put Onion Knight on someone other than Lid or Rain, since he covers both.
Mindflayer Strategy
Rings Instead of Esuna
Paralysis is the worst of its ailments because it costs you turns. With Esuna out, Jeweled Rings are your protection.
Fire for the Elementals
The Mind Elementals drop to a single Fire hit. Clear them, then turn Earth on Mindflayer.
Carbuncle, With One Catch
Summon Carbuncle early so Reflect bounces its spells. The Blizzagas that follow a defeated elemental ignore Reflect, so let your high magic defense members take those.
