How to Get AP in FF Resonance

AP decides how many abilities a character can equip in Final Fantasy Resonance. You raise it by ranking up Visions, and you spend it in the Equipment & Abilities screen.
  • AP stands for Ability Points and caps how many abilities a character can equip.
  • Every Vision gives AP +8 at Mastery Rank 4 and again at Mastery Rank 9.
  • Mastery Ranks go up as you win battles with the Vision equipped.
  • Equip abilities from the Equipment & Abilities screen in the main menu.

How to Get AP

AP comes from Vision Mastery Ranks. Equip a Vision, win fights, and when it hits certain ranks the character wearing it gains AP.

Mastery RankReward
4AP +8
9AP +8

That is the same for all 26 Visions, so leveling more Visions on the same character keeps raising their AP.

Ranks need MRP. Expert difficulty, Stagger Finishes, Mastery Pendant and Cactuars all speed it up. See the MRP farming guide.

How to Use AP

  1. Open the main menu.
  2. Go to Equipment & Abilities.
  3. Pick a character.
  4. Equip abilities until their AP total is used up.

Each ability has its own AP cost, from 10 for small passives up to 130 for the strongest Spirit abilities. The more Visions you rank up, the bigger your pool of abilities to choose from.

What Is AP?

AP means Ability Points. Abilities learned through Mastery Ranks each have an AP price, and the AP stat is the most a character can spend at once.

Learned abilities stay with the character after you swap Visions. AP is what limits how many you can run together.
