Finish Fights With a Stagger
Land the final blow while the last enemy is staggered to earn the Stagger Finish Bonus. A normal Cactuar goes from 220 MRP to 286 this way.
Our bonus guide covers every end-of-battle reward.
Play on Expert
Expert multiplies MRP by 1.5. Stack it with a stagger finish and you get the biggest free boost in the game.
If fights get too rough, switch back down outside battle. The difficulty guide shows where the option is.
Equip MRP Accessories
| Accessory | Bonus | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Mastery Pendant | Double MRP | Hidden treasure from the Mysidia Scanner |
| Mastery Ring | +100% MRP, up to 10 | See the accessories list |
Give them to whoever has the Vision you most want to rank up.
Use Victoria's MRP Gain +50%
Get Victoria from the Chapter 5 sub quest Victoria Revivified in Mysidia. At Mastery Rank 7 she teaches MRP Gain +50%, which costs 30 AP to equip.
Equip Foe Attractor
More random encounters means less walking between fights. Use it at a spot where Cactuars or Gigantuars show up often.
Give Magic Pots What They Want
Magic Pots are one-time encounters. Instead of attacking, use the item they ask for during the fight to end it and collect the MRP.
| Magic Pot | Chapter | Give it | MRP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Citrine Pot | 1 and 2 | Ether | 120 |
| Viridian Pot | 2 and 3 | Mist Ether | 200 |
| Crimson Pot | 4 | Turbo Ether | 350 |
| Azure Pot | 5 | Mist Turbo Ether | 400 |
| Violet Pot | 6 | X-Ether | 800 |
| Pearly Pot | 8 | Elixir | 1,200 |
Each type shows up twice, for 12 Magic Pots in total. Carry the items ahead of time and wear your MRP accessories. Full details are in the Magic Pot guide.
Hunt Cactuar Enemies
| Enemy | From | Base MRP |
|---|---|---|
| Minituar | Chapter 1 | 40 |
| Cactuar | Chapter 2 | 220 |
| Gigantuar | Chapter 6 | 600 |
Cactuars pay far more MRP than normal enemies. They dodge a lot, so use reliable attacks or hit their Ice and Water weakness, and stagger them for the finish bonus.
All MRP Farming Spots
| Enemy | Region | Spot | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minituar | Kingdom of Grandshelt | Desert zones | Chapter 1 |
| Cactuar | Kingdom of Grandshelt | Landing spot between two peaks of the highest mountain | Airship |
| Cactuar | Zoldaad | Southern area | Chapter 4 |
| Gigantuar | Gronoa | By the Sanctissimus Shrine | Chapter 6 |
| Gigantuar | Gronoa | Northeast of Catacumba Cave | Chapter 6 |
| Gigantuar | Kingdom of Pharm | By Dragon's Maw | Chapter 7 |
- Minituars are the only early option. Each is worth 40 MRP, so keep walking the desert until one appears.
- The mountain spot can also spawn a Wandering One instead of a Cactuar.
- A Gigantuar finished with a stagger gives 780 MRP, and Expert raises it more.
What Is MRP?
MRP stands for Mastery Rank Points. They raise a Vision's Mastery Rank, which gives you new abilities, stat bonuses and extra AP.
Every character who has joined earns MRP for their equipped Vision, even from the bench. Before a farming run, give everyone a Vision you want to level.
Browse all Visions and their abilities on the Visions page.
FAQ
What is the fastest way to farm MRP in FF Resonance?
Fight Gigantuars on Expert with a Mastery Pendant and finish each fight on a stagger. Add Victoria's MRP Gain +50% on a second character.
Do benched characters get MRP?
Yes. Party members who are not fighting still earn MRP for the Vision they have equipped.
Can I farm Magic Pots more than once?
No. Each of the 12 Magic Pots can only be cleared once, so bring the right item the first time.
