How to play Slingshot Smash

Grumpy green slimes are hiding in towers of wood, ice and stone. Drag back on the slingshot, watch the dotted line that shows where your puffball will fly, then let go. Every slime on the level has to pop before you run out of puffballs.

Slimes pop when a puffball hits them, when they fall from high up or when heavy blocks crash onto them, so knocking a tower over is often the best move. A small tumble only makes them wince. Blocks crack before they break: ice shatters easily, wood takes a solid hit and stone barely cares unless a bomb goes off next to it.

There are 15 handmade levels with 3 to 5 puffballs each. The next level unlocks when you clear one, and also after 3 tries that did not work, so nobody gets stuck. Your stars and best score for every level stay saved on this device.

Puffball types in Slingshot Smash

Red puffball: the big round classic, good all round. Blue puffball (from level 4): tap while it flies and it splits into 3 small puffballs that are great at smashing ice. Yellow puffball (from level 6): tap in the air for a speed dash that punches straight through wood.

Bomb puffball (from level 8): tap any time to explode and blast everything nearby, stone included. If you do not tap, it goes off by itself a moment after it lands. The card for the level where a new puffball shows up has its picture in the corner, and a hint at the bottom of the screen tells you what to do.

Slingshot Smash scoring and 3 star tips

Each slime is worth 5,000 points and the king slime 10,000. A broken block gives 500 for wood, 300 for ice and 800 for stone, and bigger pieces give up to twice that. Cracking a block also adds a few points. When the last slime pops, every puffball you did not use adds 10,000.

Clearing a level gives 1 star. Finishing with one puffball to spare is usually 2 stars and with two to spare is 3 stars, and smashing lots of blocks can make up the difference. Aim for the base of tall towers so they fall onto the slimes, save the bomb for stone and tap again once your puffball has landed to load the next one without waiting.

The record under the game is your total: the best score of every level added together, so replaying a level for more stars also pushes your record up.

Can you play Slingshot Smash on your phone?

Yes. Put your finger anywhere on the screen and drag back to pull the slingshot, the further you drag the harder it shoots. Tap while the puffball flies to use its power. Turning the phone sideways or using the fullscreen button makes everything bigger.
