Guide

FF Resonance Best Early Game Builds

Your first three party members can each go a few directions in Final Fantasy Resonance. These builds use gear you can get in the opening chapters.
  • Rain tanks best with Warrior of Light and stacks HP from Flamberge, Surcoat and Vitality Charm.
  • Lasswell and Cloud are the classic stagger pair, with Thunder Surge and Water Surge hitting weaknesses.
  • Fina is safest as a Leah healer, and Terra or Tronn turn her into a hybrid.
  • Iwakirimaru comes from The Weight of Mercy and Flamberge from Dream of an Idealist, both Chapter 1 sub quests.
  • Vitality Charm and Stagger Ring are Tablet Shard rewards at 3 and 12 shards.

Early Game Builds for Rain

Rain is a Sentinel, so he is happiest at the front taking hits. Run the tank build for bosses and the DPS build when your healer can keep him topped up.

  • Bulletproof Vest adds physical defense against the melee hits he draws.
  • Open each fight with Vanguard Glaive. It deals Light damage and forces enemies to target Rain.
  • Work toward Multi-Cover and Physical Counter so he shields allies and punishes attackers.

  • He keeps the HP from Flamberge and Vitality Charm, so he still stands up like a Sentinel.
  • Use the Surge skills to stagger first, then cash in on Cloud's crit bonuses.
  • Broadsword Mastery only works at full HP, so keep a healer on him.

  • Use Thunder Surge and Water Surge on enemies weak to those elements.
  • When his LB gauge is full, open with Null Moon to soften the target, then hit its weakness.

FAQ

Where do I get Flamberge and Iwakirimaru?

Flamberge is the reward for Dream of an Idealist in Grandshelt, and Iwakirimaru comes from The Weight of Mercy in Grandport Harbor. Both are Chapter 1 sub quests.

What is the best early Vision for Lasswell?

Cloud. Both are built around breaking enemies, and Cloud's Lightning and Water Surge skills let Lasswell hit common weaknesses.

Should Fina heal or attack early on?

Heal with Leah while you learn the fights. Once your team is steady, Terra or Tronn let her add damage without losing her healing spells.
