FF Resonance Money Farming: How to Farm Gil Fast

New gear in Final Fantasy Resonance gets pricey fast. These are the quickest ways to fill your wallet, from bonus multipliers to the enemies that drop the most Gil.
  • An Overkill bonus multiplies Gil by 1.3, and Casual makes it easier to land.
  • Gil Snappers are weak to Ice and counter physical hits, so use spells.
  • Stealing Golden Shells from Gil Snappers gives items that sell for a lot.
  • Vaan's Double Gil at Mastery Rank 9 is the single biggest Gil boost.
  • Tonberries in the Gronoa Shrine drop around 9,500 Gil in Chapter 6.

Land Overkills on Casual

An Overkill happens when you hit an enemy that is already defeated, which is easiest during a Sweeping Stagger. It multiplies the Gil from that fight by 1.3.

Casual lowers enemy HP so Overkills come more often. There are no difficulty trophies, so switching costs you nothing. See the bonus guide for the other end-of-fight rewards.

Beat Gil Snappers

Gil Snappers drop a big pile of Gil, so never skip one. They punish physical hits with counters, so hit their Ice weakness to stagger them, then go for the Overkill.

  • Y’shtola's Seventh Dawn Blizzard line is a good Ice source.
  • Shiva is an Ice Esper if you have her.
  • King Gil Snapper has 60,000 HP, so bring your strongest Ice damage.

Steal Golden Shells

Use Zidane's Steal on Gil Snappers. Each kind can drop a Golden Shell item that shops buy for a lot of Gil.

King Gil SnapperLarge Golden Shell (rare)
Brigand's Gloves raise your steal success rate. They cost 4,000 Gil in the airship shop from Chapter 5. Zidane's third awakening adds Treasure Hunter, which makes every successful steal a rare item.

Buy the Foe Attractor

Foe Attractor raises the encounter rate. It costs 12,000 Gil at the Colosseum shop once you clear the Fledgling League. The Colosseum opens in Chapter 4.

Raise Vaan to Mastery Rank 9

Get Vaan from his Sanctum in northern Mysidia during Chapter 5. At Mastery Rank 9 he teaches Double Gil, and Gil Farmer on Stagger comes earlier at rank 3.

This setup is about breaking enemies quickly, even ones with long Stagger gauges, and earning Gil from each break. Put Double Gil on a second character to stack the rewards.

Fight Tonberries in Chapter 6

Tonberries inside the Gronoa Shrine drop about 9,500 Gil and plenty of EXP. They are weak to Lightning, so bring a Lightning Vision.

Beating your first King Gil Snapper also earns the Struck Gold trophy.

Where to Use Gil

Shops

Gil mainly goes to weapons, armor, accessories and items. Each new town charges more than the last, so a Gil buffer before you arrive saves time.

One purchase worth saving for is the Adamantite on the Merchant Ship, priced at 35,000 Gil. See the Wandering Merchant guide.

Gil Toss

Vaan's Gil Toss, from Mastery Rank 5, spends Gil to hit every enemy. It is a fun way to turn spare money into damage.

FAQ

What is the fastest way to make Gil in FF Resonance?

Equip Vaan's Double Gil, farm Gil Snappers with Ice magic and finish each fight with an Overkill on Casual.

Should I farm Gil on Casual?

Yes. Lower enemy HP makes Overkills easier to land, and since no trophy depends on difficulty, switching costs you no achievements.

What are Golden Shells for?

They are sell items. Steal them from Gil Snappers and sell them at any shop for a large amount of Gil.
