How to play Fruit Merge
A fruit hangs above a glass jar. Move it left or right, then drop it. Every fruit is a round physics body, so it rolls, bounces a little and settles on the pile below. When two fruits of the same kind touch, they pop and merge into the next bigger fruit at the spot where they met.
There are 11 fruits in order from smallest to biggest: cherry, strawberry, grape, mandarin, persimmon, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, melon and watermelon. The fruit you drop is always one of the 5 smallest, and the Next box in the top right shows what comes after it.
The dashed red line near the top of the jar is the limit. If a fruit has come to rest and still pokes above that line for 1.5 seconds, the jar turns red and the game ends. A fruit that is only passing through the line while falling does not count.
Fruit Merge scoring and combos
Points grow with the size of the pair you merge: two cherries give 10, strawberries 30, grapes 60, mandarins 100, persimmons 150, apples 210, pears 280, peaches 360, pineapples 450 and two melons 550 points. Two watermelons touching clear both from the jar and pay a 2,000 point bonus.
Merges that happen less than a second apart form a combo. Each extra merge in the chain adds 20 bonus points and a Combo counter shows above the jar. Chain reactions, where one merge drops a fruit onto its twin, are the fastest way to rack up points.
Tips for a high score in Fruit Merge
Keep the big fruits low and the small ones on top. Try to sort by size from one side to the other, so the fruit you drop lands next to its twin instead of getting buried. Small fruit stuck under a watermelon is dead weight that eats space.
Use the walls. A fruit dropped against the side rolls inward along the pile, which is handy for nudging a stray cherry toward another one. Watch the Next box too: if the next fruit matches the one in your hand, drop them in the same spot for an instant merge.
Can you play Fruit Merge on a phone?
Yes. Fruit Merge runs in the browser with no download. On a phone or tablet, drag your finger to move the fruit and lift it to drop, or just tap where you want the fruit to fall. On a computer, move the mouse or use the arrow keys, then click or press Space.
The game starts right away, there is no timer, and your best score is saved on your device. If you leave in the middle of a run, the score you had is still kept as a record.
